Dr Yasar Mehmood Yousafzai, associate professor at the Institute of Pathology and Diagnostic Medicine (IPDM), KMU has been awarded the prestigious ‘Science and Sustainability’ award by the British Council, Pakistan. This prize was awarded to him for his services in the field of science, his work with inspiring younger students to work in the STEM fields, and his role in the Covid-19 pandemic. This award is given annually to the extra-ordinary alumni of UK universities. He was selected amongst 1400 applicants through a competitive process that involved judges from UK. In his acceptance speech, the faculty member dedicated the award to KMU for providing an environment to work with academic freedom. Vice Chancellor KMU Professor Dr Zia ul Haq, congratulated him on receiving this award. He also stressed that qualified faculty members are our assets and KMU is actively working to provide nurturing and enabling environment where they can grow their profile as well as benefit the province.
